Life just cracks me up sometimes...well...often really! It just never seems to go as I have planned, yet somehow it always kind of works out. A few weeks ago, I was just really down and discouraged. I lost my job in August and had been working two part time jobs, but barely making ends meet. I have no benefits, no insurance, no time off, no security blanket....my child support went down because the kids' dad added them to his insurance....I was trying to help a few friends with various things...and I had been let down yet again in my job search. I went to a close friend and vented for a bit and then she shared some scriptures with me and prayed. I felt a relief after that. And then...just a few days later I got a phone call from a principal asking if I would be interested in a long term sub assignment. I had not even applied for it and she was calling me. So, I went in and I got the job. My other job was willing to let me come in a little late every day and this new job was willing to let me leave a little early each day. I love it there and wish it was for longer. This weekend I was feeling a bit exhausted because for the past few weeks I have been working three jobs--about 80 hours a week, plus juggling my mom responsibilities. So, today the principal gave me a really great compliment and it meant so much to me. It feels great to be appreciated and have hard work acknowledged! Life is so full of ups and downs it is easy to lose your focus and your perspective on things, but if you keep your eyes open on the journey, you can see all of the wonderful blessings surrounding us all the time.
